THE QUICKEST WAY TO SAVE THE MOST MONEY

As the cost of living continues to rise (daily it feels) so does the desire to make a dollar stretch. The desire to turn one dollar into hundreds of thousands? Oh yes. That’s definitely there as well.

I mean c’mon. Practically everything costs money these days, so saving a buck or ten is vital.

If you’re like me, growing up I couldn’t wait to reach adulthood. The idea of being on my own and making my own money — it could easily cause me to salivate I was so excited back then.

& then I reached adulthood and realized it for what it was: the most beautifully mind boggling scam of life.

Why the hell aren’t we taught or forced by our parents to enjoy childhood (because that bitch only comes around once LOL)?

In any case, the quickest way to save the most money has been on my mind heavily. You know stretching a dollar being the goal of adulthood in its entirety, that is.

After doing a deep dive via the World Wide Web, chatting with my older brother who is a financial wiz + reading every financial literacy article I could get my hands on — it hit me.

Like a ton of bricks.

The quickest way to save the most money is to stop spending money on things you don’t need.

Sounds simple enough right? It does, but I believe we can all attest to how hard doing so actually is.

Here’s the thing. We live in a world where we constantly yearn for what we don’t have. With quotes/memes telling us to treat ourselves and two seconds later telling us to save save save. Which is it man? Are we supposed to be out here living our best life with the belief that we’ll make it all back or save because the Great Depression is about to run the block again. I can hardly keep up. However, I’ve come to understand that it’s a little bit of both. We’re meant to enjoy the fruits of our labor yes, BUT to a certain extent. We’re certainly not meant to treat ourselves every off day or whenever we feel like we need a pick me up. For some who have zero discipline, a “pick me up” or “treat yourself” could be every damn day.

Yeah no.

The objective is to save for three rainy days, and spend on the once in a blue moon chance the sun decides to come out.

Saving is imperative y’all.

Doing so allows you to reach goals that will aid in a more comfortable and astute lifestyle.

In most cases it helps to make a list of all the things you want out of life:

Maybe you want a new car, or a new home, to pay off certain debts, or want to go on a luxury vacation… whatever your goals align them with the need to save to attain them.

Though the title of today’s article is giving very much clickbait vibes — there’s no secret formula or low down trick to quickly save the most money. Not here at least.

So sorry to disappoint.

Instead, tonight’s post is meant to remind you that saving money (though challenging), can all be so easy. We just have to solidify discipline, financial goals, and cut back on the desire to treat ourselves so much.

Sounds easy enough right?

To no longer spending money on things we don’t need as we watch our savings account blossom,
