Hi baby loves! How’s your Tuesday been?

I hope swell (do people still say swell or ever say swell? I don’t know, but I like it so I’m rolling with it).

Anyway.

With Summer definitely upon us, I can’t help but feel excited about all there is to do and see. For me, outside of the dread that is summer school, these next few months have always been a great time to reconnect with friends and loved ones. Catching late dinners with girlfriends (and finally hearing the tea on Jake’s latest sidepiece), having sushi with the guys (and hearing about why Chloe’s pissed at Charlie), or hitting the movies with my best friend (and figuring out by the end of it, we’ve seen another shitty movie) — are just a few of the ways I like to get back in the groove of things with friends.

Summer, is that you? Pretty much babes. The official first day of summer starts in four days, and with it fast approaching I can’t help but get ahead of myself.

For me, I’ve always thought of the first day of summer as quiet permission to get wild. Well, wait. Let me rephrase that. My wild, may be a bit different than what you babes have in mind. Get wild as in read books, on books, on books that I love; sleep in till 10am; watch TV in between said books; go out with my girlfriends; and hit the club scene once in a blue moon.

Dear Almost Love,

I was so young when I met you. Like the young where I didn’t know who I was and wasn’t sure about where I belonged… young. The young where being in love was such a magical fantasy, but I knew I wanted to experience the magic, at least for a little while. I thought I’d experienced it with you. Or at least felt like I was about to.

Disclaimer. I’m just going to be honest. This is all about me being honest about my feelings. This is my truth. I don’t want to know what you were really thinking during that time or what you were playing at because it doesn’t matter. What matters is me keeping that time in my life intact for memories sake. I know now, that it was all bullshit, but hey… it was a time in my life that taught me a great deal. So in my eyes it wasn’t bullshit, in fact it was the complete opposite. It was meaningful.
