Summer, is that you? Pretty much babes. The official first day of summer starts in four days, and with it fast approaching I can’t help but get ahead of myself.
For me, I’ve always thought of the first day of summer as quiet permission to get wild. Well, wait. Let me rephrase that. My wild, may be a bit different than what you babes have in mind. Get wild as in read books, on books, on books that I love; sleep in till 10am; watch TV in between said books; go out with my girlfriends; and hit the club scene once in a blue moon.
I’m finally getting back into the swing of things, including blogging since my kind of wild weekend. I know it’s Wednesday, but I’m not used to drinking or getting hammered three nights in a row. To be honest, if you’re someone who knows me pretty well, you know that I don’t do the whole ‘getting wild af‘ often. Pretty much never, but my girls dragged me out so I became down for the cause pretty quickly.
As you guys know, I’ve recently become a major lover of the color black. From the clothing I wear to everything in between, I’ve been living in black. There’s just something so sophisticated and classic about it that I can’t get enough of.
So naturally, owning one little black dress (or five) is a must in my wardrobe and I think it should be in you babes’ as well.
I just want to start off this post before I get into anything else, by saying thank you.
If you’re like me, you either know someone; love someone, or have lost someone who served or is serving our country. Men and women throughout our country, have committed their lives to protect us all on the homefront. They face evils and wickedness unknown to us, so that we can continue leading the lives we live (and cherish so very much).
So thank you. To every soldier fighting the good fight and those we’ve lost along the way.
Thank you for fighting for us and making a commitment to bleed red, white, and blue no matter the cost.
