VISITED: EMMALINE

Emmaline

Happy Monday y’all!

No, but seriously. Happy Monday y’all! It’s Labor Day, which means (if you’re like me) you babes are still riding high on the four day weekend. After all — eating, laughing, and being merry is what this four day weekend is all about.

& a lot of that I did which included trying out a local eatery, Emmaline.

You guys, I fell in LOVE with this place.

From the food, to the scenery — Everything about this restaurant gave me all the feels and then some. So much so that I’d be remiss if I didn’t share my wonderful experience with you babes. With the hope that you’ll want to visit and fall in love as well, of course.

So keep reading, as I break down the food and scenic aspect of Emmaline & why I’ve fallen so hard for this local eatery.

THE FOOD & DRINKS

Backstory: I went with my girl Jules to celebrate her being 5 years cancer free – WHOOP! We had been meaning to try Emmaline out for a few weeks, but our schedules kept getting in the way of that. Thing is. Jules and I make a point every couple of weeks to try out new places to go eat at. Whether it’s Mexican, American, or whatever else Houston has to offer, we try our best to get together and have a good laugh with good food & great drinks included.

After being shown to our seats, the waiter (sweet woman named Rebecca) gave us a rundown of the drink menu (& the food menu). I always find this helpful because it gives me an idea of what to expect from different cocktails that the restaurant offers. It also gives me a chance to get the waiter’s take on their personal favorites.

We both ended up getting the Pretty Little Liar (monopolowa, combier peche de vigne, lemon, ginger), which ended up being so.damn.good. Let me tell you.

For food, we couldn’t make up our minds and ended up splitting the GARGANELLI SCAMPI (shrimp, sweet cipollini, fava beans, tomato, olive oil) & NORTH PIZZA (bresaola, oyster mushrooms, cipollini confit, taleggio, arugula).

It was all so damn good you guys.

The scampi was perfect and gave me the whole ‘homemade fresh out of someone’s grandma’s european kitchen‘ vibes. I mean, you just can’t beat that.

The North Pizza, not to be overlooked was equally as good.

& the service? IMPECCABLE. I don’t think my water ever reached below the halfway point (& I drink a ton of water), they were so on it.

Zero complaints on the food and drinks front.

THE SCENERY

From the moment Jules and I stepped inside the restaurant, we both felt like we stepped into paradise of the interior kind. I mean you guys, the inside was everything. I would have stayed in there for hours if I could. As nice as the staff were, I’m almost positive I could have pushed my luck and they would have let me.

The decor, the style — there was so much inspiration and character to draw from the environment of Emmaline alone. I just felt so relaxed there. It was like being in an elegant and yet chill ass place, all at once.

But probably my favorite part of it all? The outside dining upstairs.

Pure dream.

Jules and I had our fill and then some of exploring, taking pictures, talking, and just vibing out overall. Although we ate inside (because with this Texas heat, who has time to sweat our asses off) — the staff were so sweet to let us chill upstairs and have said fill.

Never once did I get the feeling that we might be rushed out or shunned for taking pictures, like many restaurants tend to get me feeling like.

It was all just a pure dream.

With that being said. Do us both a favor and check out Emmaline, the next time you’re in the mood to try something new.

I promise you won’t regret it babes.

To good drinks and even better food,

Thelms
