UNCOMFORTABLE

Uncomfortable

I’m so uncomfortable because I thought about baring it all to you last night.

Opening myself up and letting my vulnerability spill through,

It’s what I figured was par the course in making this thing,

a definite me & you.

Should I stand in front of you and let you watch as I laid everything out,

Or turn my back and let you decide,

how we could be open while taking a different route.

In the end I decided to face you as each article fell away,

Nervous with every move that my courage might slip or fade.

Is this what being uncomfortable feels like?

Should I get closer or move back,

who’s ever sure how being open really goes,

I’d give anything to get inside your head and figure out what being in there really shows.

Are you anxious to hear what I have to say,

or are you going to sit there and just stare,

I bet you’d prefer my silence that way hurting me would seem fair.

I’m now completely bare and you’re still gawking,

gosh I’m so uncomfortable here,

Contemplating being open with you has to be one of the hardest things I’ve pondered this year.

This indeed is what being uncomfortable feels like.

If you’ve missed any of my other personalized poetry pieces, catch up here babes.
