Now that we’ve gotten that taken care, let’s get into to today’s post.
Last night, I discovered a new TV show that I’m almost positive I became obsessed with instantaneously.
“Love Is” is a romantic drama that highlights the love story of two individuals, Suri and Yasir. The latest production on OWN network follows the first meeting and their true discovery of self through their relationship. As viewers, we get to experience how they chase the passions of their heart while trying to fall/stay in love. The show draws real life inspiration from the love story of award winning producers and creators of the show, Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil.
If those names don’t sound familiar to you babes, I’m sure the shows they have created and produced will.
Mara Brock Akil is the writer and creator behind the hit series (that every girl could relate to), Girlfriends. She is also behind the hits Being Mary Jane and The Game. Her husband; Salim Akil is behind Black Lightning on CW.
Together, they are a powerhouse. So much so, that it’s no wonder their latest passion project ‘Love Is’ is everything I could wish for in a TV show right now.
Although, it has given me the desire to express what love is to me and inquire what love may be to you babes.

Love Is…
Hard.
It’s magical.
Time consuming.
Wonderful.
Troublesome.
Passionate.
Hellish.
Suffocating.
Motivating.
Inspiring.
Love is a mix of things. It can break you, but build you. It can hurt you, then heal you. Love is what we should all aspire to have. It’s what will make life worth it. Through the love of family, a partner, or both… it will bring peace.
It’s what will keep us all young and excited, never having to worry about being invited. Because love is home — it’s where he is or she is, or they are.
Would you believe me if I told you that it changes you?
It’s the kind of thing that all of us need to go through. For better or worse, love is what our bodies will always run to. & when you make it in you become initiated as part of the people doing things that people in love do.
Shit.
Love is all encasing.
I wish love for every person, every being. It is is my hope that you all get to experience what is meant when they say “seeing is believing.”
Because you really do have to see love to believe love.
Because love is… magic.
