Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers across the world. It’s because of you that new generations continue to thrive, grow, and prosper in various ways. For this special day, I was feeling very somber and sweet with just a dash of serene. What better color to embody those emotions than nude. Let’s face it, I’m in a very nude mood.
Today’s featured fit is all about the Halter Bodycon dress. Comfy and fitted halter dresses are the perfect look to transition between mid afternoon to late nights out with your good girlfriends. I love this dress from Forever 21 because it’s so true to size and very comfortable to wear throughout the day. The dress is so comfortable on because it’s made out of this really light knit fabric that I’m just obsessed with. The slit on the side of the dress and the open back add to the appeal of the look as well.
The Met Gala was last night and it was everything. The event is always celebrity-packed with so many coming out to show off their works of art fashion wise at this prestigious gathering. This gala is known as an annual fundraising effort that benefits the Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in the Big Apple (New York City). It marks the launch of the exhibit that showcases this institute’s great costume fashions. What few may not realize is that this event is themed. Every year a new theme is picked and those attending are expected to dress in accordance to what is chosen. This year’s theme: Manus X Machina – Fashion in the Age of Technology. Summer is quickly approaching and I’m so looking forward to it. It’s one of my favorite seasons because of the non-stop sun and free dressing I get to do. It’s a time that we can all just chill by the pool, sip some mimosas occasionally, and snag one summer class if it’s absolutely necessary. The intensity of the second semester and wrapping up finals has come to an end, granting us the freedom to breathe a sigh of relief. Do it with me, inhale and slowly exhale “whoooosah”. Wearing things that make me feel relaxed is the key to an awesome summer.
Going out of town for my friend’s 21st birthday was just what I needed. It was a great break and I enjoyed every second of it all! Though I missed being home, I enjoyed myself immensely. It was important that I pack a ton of evening wear because we were going to be out a lot to celebrate my good girlfriend’s birthday. This midi dress from Forever21 was just what I needed!
