Remember how I said concealer was my all time favorite makeup product? That was a true statement, but in terms of lip products; lip liners are the best thing ever created. Don’t quote me though! Next week I might say something else is the best product ever created. I can’t help it, I’m a true lover of all things beauty. Lip liners (or lippies as I humbly refer to them as) are to lipstick like false lashes are to eyeliner. They are a necessity in every makeup lovers’ stash. When you take a look at your collection of lip liners: do yo notice a pattern? I know I did when I took a look at my stash. Taking a look started to make me wonder. What does my lip liner say about me? What does your lip liner say about you?
When you develop a pattern in your beauty choices it’s usually because you know what looks good on you. Sometimes it’s just what you prefer, plain and simple. I love a good lip liner with my color preference. Personally I prefer mauve, nude, mocha, brown nudes, and pinky tones on my lips. Just like the color that my nails usually are, I feel like these tones are right up my alley. I am not one for the loud obnoxious colors and that speaks towards my personality. Don’t get me wrong; I do have a loud outgoing personality, but I do like to maintain a level of elusiveness. This is evident through the lip liners I own. That’s what my lip liners say about me.
First up are my drugstore babies (the group I purchased from the drugstore). I love these because they apply so nicely on hydrated lips of course. Sidenote: your lips can’t be crusty trying to put anything on them because it’s just not going to work you know? They are pretty inexpensive, especially the NYX one also rather easy to find.
MAC Cosmetics has always been the rave when it comes to lip products though they can be a bit pricey. I personally love them. I’m obsessed with how they come on and that they are so easy to work with. I can put these lippies on with a combination of other products and it doesn’t disappear. It’s still very much present while the other products are on as well. Essentially, these MAC lip liners play well with others.
I love Buxom lip liners or as they refer to them; lip foundations. They are so creamy and blendable. They are one of the creamiest lip products I’ve ever used. It could be so creamy because it’s a lip “foundation”. As creamy as the foundation we put on our faces should be, the point was this should be too.
I love finishing up my lips with my favorite lip gloss by Marc Jacobs, getting dressed, and heading out the door.
