DON’T BREAK THE BANK: HOW TO SHOP FOR VINTAGE DENIM

vintage denim

In the past few years, I have noticed a surge in vintage denim sales. It seems like everyone is rocking them from the oldest Kardashian to the youngest West. It might have a lot to do with the style or the fit. Maybe both?

In my case it’s both.

There’s just something special about the way vintage denim looks on and the overall style. I especially love the zipper detailing and the texture of the jeans. There’s this authentic roughness to them that you can’t find in regular denim at your local Forever 21. Which is why snagging them can seem like such a task that you have to spend a ton of money to accomplish.

BUT, that doesn’t have to be the case.

In today’s post, I’m sharing how to shop for them without breaking the bank + I’m sharing details on this look.

SO, keep reading babes.

Thrifting.

It’s literally the best way to shop for vintage denim without breaking the bank. Not even kidding y’all.

Now listen. I know thrifting generally isn’t always ideal because it takes time and effort. You have to be mentally prepared when you go thrifting and remind yourself that it might take a few hours before you find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. It’s definitely not something you can do on the whim because… I’ve tried twice before. I failed miserably and finally learned a valuable lesson in the process.

Never go thrifting on the whim because, fail.

Nevertheless, when you make out the time to go and end up find something?! That pot of gold at the end of the rainbow that I was talking about earlier — it’s real y’all and will manifest itself in that corner of your heart that gets all mushy when you make a new purchase. Especially when you find vintage denim for as cheap as $7.

Babes you cannot beat that.

Naturally every single pair of vintage denim that I own (well except for one) have come from thrifting. I guess I just refuse to spend upwards of $50/$60 on denim that I can snag for $7 freaking dollars.

Like I said. You cannot beat that y’all.

As for my look: I’m rocking a bodysuit from here and of course my vintage denim I snagged while thrifting for $6.99! I finished off the look with my absolute favorite sandals and mini backpack from Forever 21.

Although I’m not a super fan of denim and hardly ever have it on, I will rock some vintage denim in a heartbeat. & if you’re the babe who spends upwards of $50/$60 on vintage denim don’t take offense! Doing so every now and again is cool for me, but I just rather spend less if it’s at all possible.

I’m now off to continue writing new posts for the blog and enjoying the week and a half I have left of summer.

P.S. This entire post was written while lounging in denim. Cheeky right? I thought so.

Laters babes,

Thelms
