HOW FINDING EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT OUT OF LIFE CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING

I had the most amazing conversation with one of my good girlfriends from high school today and wow. I’m not sure about you guys, but I cherish the moments in convos with girlfriends that get deep. That are beyond the rubbish of everyday life and instead dive deep into intentionality, growth, and exploration of self.

We broached topics both near and dear / far and wide. However, the topic we broached that we sat with for the longest?

Pinpointing what you want out of life + how doing so can quite literally change your life.

It seems like such a simple feat though right? Almost cliche even.

Figure out what you want? Check

Go after what you want? Check.

Life officially changed and transformed? Check check.

In reality it comes across as something that’s a bit harder to achieve though, but what if it wasn’t.

What if identifying what you want out of life and going at it with so much vigor (within appropriate means) changed your life in extraordinary ways?

For example,

From childhood — I always knew I wanted to live comfortably. I wanted to be able to take care of myself independently (until I met my husband of course and taking care of each other & our household became a joint venture), in the same way I grew up. I also knew that I enjoyed interacting with different kinds of people while being a helpful hand.

Being a healthcare provider was my calling y’all. I knew that and I wanted that, so I went after it.

I made sure I always prioritized school and excelled academically — because I knew exactly what I wanted.

& because of that (& God’s Grace) I am where I am today resulting in a transformative life that changed everything. It led to the transition of my life from childhood to adulthood, ya know?

When I think about it like that I realize that it’s so true — figuring out what you want and in doing so laying the foundation for your life to be transformed is key.

I will not fail to mention that figuring out what you want out of life does not have to be this obnoxious thing.

It’s okay to start small or within appropriate means. It’s also okay to reach far and aim high with accountability to yourself at the forefront.

You want to:

Grow your business? Put yourself in rooms that allow you to do so. Make financial goals that are attainable. Be responsible with your time.

You want to:

Find your person? Date with intention. Put yourself out there. Seek Christ and ask for his guidance in doing so. Become or further solidify the person you hope to attract by living in that.

You want to:

Make it to the New York Times Bestseller’s list? Finish that book. Share your story. Prepare to grind and work hard.

Whatever your wants, when you get clear about them — you can get even clearer on how to achieve them.

If I leave y’all with nothing, I leave you all with this:

Whatever the mind can conceive, it can achieve.

To your life being changed in more ways than you ever thought possible,
