I don’t know about y’all but the idea of a new month, does something for me. Or to me.

It excites me in a way that I can’t begin to explain, but I’ll sure try.

For starters, it’s a redo. A chance to begin again and recommit yourself to the things you want out of life. To self improvement and discovery of self.

It’s a chance to right the wrongs of the previous month. A chance to make better choices and be an even better version of yourself than you may have previously been.

More than anything it’s a chance to be grateful. To recognize that you have been given an additional chance at life. Another chance to bask in the blessings the new month will surely bring.

So that brings me to the the specific topic of today’s post: Claiming August’s Blessings.

I want start by having you close your eyes and think. Think about everything that the previous month was for you.

Was it hard in a way that you don’t want to re-live? Were you hurt in a way that you don’t want to experience again? Did you receive the most amazing news that has changed the trajectory of your life for the better?

What was the previous month for you?

After figuring that out, take a deep breath and thank God. Thank God for July’s blessings and it’s hardships. Thank God for the knowledge you gained from whichever scenario you experienced.

Now I want you to take another deep breath. Don’t forget to exhale when it feels right.

I now want you to think about everything you want this new month to be.

Are you hoping for financial security? The right partner righteous in spirit and soulful in mind? Do you want to achieve a particular goal or dream? Maybe you want to establish better relationships with the people in your life?

Really think on this long and hard.

What are you hoping to find in the month of August?

After figuring those things out, pray for it.

Start now to claim August’s Blessings. Start now to Thank God for all he will do for you and what he has already done. Thank God even for the hardships you will face. Smile at the idea that those very hardships will continue to shape you and you will be better because of it.

Just Thank God.
