Happy Sunday babes!

If you babes follow me on instagram, you probably have watched the backstory of what I’ll be chatting about in this post. If you haven’t, let me give you guys some of said backstory.

Today after shooting some content for the blog, I met up with someone that means a great deal to me. To you guys she would be identified as a former boss (because technically that’s what she is), but to me she’s so much more. Her entry into my life was pretty unexpected. However, that’s how the best things come into one’s life most times: out of the blue and unexpectedly.

Anyway.

After chatting with her and catching up, she without realizing it inspired me in more ways than one. To be honest, that’s just what she does. She’s constantly giving me words of encouragement and leading with words centered around Christ. Just like my own mom, I feel like every time I talk to her I leave more inspired and determined than when I initially came into her presence. While she encouraged me with words like:

Give it to God.

Let God be the peace in your heart, when all else fails.

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

Let God guide your path.

Have faith and believe that He (Christ) will make it alright.

It got me thinking about Christ and seeking more of him. With how crazy life has been and continues to get, I feel like I’ve fallen short of my personal commitment to Christ. Each new month I make a commitment to myself and after chatting with Mrs. F, I knew exactly what this month’s was going to be.

More Jesus in July.

Every Sunday, for the month of July, I will be chatting about attaining More Jesus in July. By highlighting a bible verse each week and chatting about what it means to me, I hope it inspires y’all to seek more of Christ as well.

Keep reading for this week’s bible verse:

“For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

For as long as I can remember, this verse has always meant a great deal to me. Christ is here to help us in all things babes. Why should we seek ourselves and not him? Believing in what man can do is nothing compared to believing in Christ. He’s never wishing to do us harm. Yes, life may not always go as planned — but what life does?

My life is a testament of this. There are things in my life that did not go the way I planned. At first, I was devastated because I couldn’t understand why it was happening to me. Even once having the nerve to say that maybe Christ didn’t love me enough. I quickly realized the error and foolishness in having that thought because this bible verse attests to the complete opposite. He does love us, you, and I. It’s because of that love that those things in our lives didn’t go as planned. It wasn’t for us. It was not our path and so he physically/religiously pulled it for us. He removed them because though WE thought it was our path, HE knew it needed to be removed to make room for what was.

So I leave you babes with the reminder that Christ has your best interest at heart.

Remember that when, the job you wanted so bad doesn’t become the job you get.

Remember that when, the guy you love so much leaves because he doesn’t love you enough.

Remember that when, you don’t get into your dream school, but get into a school.

Remember that when, it seems everyone has their life together and you feel like you don’t.

Remember that when, you put forth true effort to pass a test you end up failing.

For every bad day you have when things just don’t seem to go your way, Christ is lining up an even better day in it’s wake.

See you babes next Sunday in week two of this four weeks series about attaining more Jesus in July.
