Summer, is that you? Pretty much babes. The official first day of summer starts in four days, and with it fast approaching I can’t help but get ahead of myself.
For me, I’ve always thought of the first day of summer as quiet permission to get wild. Well, wait. Let me rephrase that. My wild, may be a bit different than what you babes have in mind. Get wild as in read books, on books, on books that I love; sleep in till 10am; watch TV in between said books; go out with my girlfriends; and hit the club scene once in a blue moon.
Though I have summer school and can’t completely ignore that fact, it doesn’t stop me from taking part in the activities I listed above. All about a little work and reward kind of deal, ya know?
Anyway.
In the spirit of summer rearing it’s beautiful head, I decided pretty quickly that today’s post would be all about one of my fave looks for summer so far.
To say I’m obsessed with this look is such an understatement. I think saying this outfit is so yummy, I quite literally want to eat it up (though I’m no fan of non-edible products LOL), might convey to you just how much I loooooove this look.
It’s sooo dang good.
First off, it’s super comfortable, light, and airy. If you’ve been a reader since the beginning, you KNOW how I feel about comfort. Just to give you new readers a snippet, let’s just say… I’d rather be comfortable than being uncomfortable having the best hair + makeup day of my life.
So yep. It gets that crucial.
This outfit picks up breeze so well, which is why I refer to it as light and airy. With the types of summers my city is known for having, you’re going to need something in your look (each time you step out) that picks up breeze really well. OR you’ll be melting your ass off in a no chill zone.
I also love how flirty and feminine the entire look is. From the frilliness of the top, to the openness of the skirt, and the lace up effect of the sandals — I don’t think this look could get any flirtier.
Weeeeeell, unless french braids pinned up was the move for my hair. Maybe next post?

Signing off rather abruptly tonight because of that thing I can’t ignore. Remember? Yeah, summer school is rearing its ugly head again and I’ve got to get a little work done. Just so I can reward myself tomorrow with brunch with a gal pal. I mean the whole spiel about ‘a little work and reward kind of deal‘ doesn’t really work if I’m doing a ton of rewarding with no work involved.
