THERE’S BEAUTY IN ESTABLISHING BOUNDARIES

If personal boundaries were as obvious as a yellow caution sign when the floor is wet after being mopped — they would be easier to follow. Unfortunately, they are more invisible to the naked eye; making it your duty as an individual to set and clarify the ones you have with others. Naturally, discovering what boundaries you want to put in place can be challenging. However, it shouldn’t be shied away from because there’s so much beauty in establishing them. It can make for healthier connections with yourself, family, and all others you surround yourself with both knowingly & unknowingly.

In tonight’s post, I want to explore the beauty in establishing boundaries and how to do so in a healthy & productive way.

There’s something to be said for old friends that ride the wave with you into your twenties. Naturally they’re a comfort because you’ve known them for years prior and if you all’s friendship survives the trials and tribulations of *teenhood, you’d hope that the same could be said for adulthood. I’M NOT JUST STRONG, I’M A SOFT WOMAN

In recent years, I’m not a huge fan that for so long we were taught to idolize strong women. Women who could weather any storm and face all fears, yes they deserve our respect. But the women who didn’t show emotion because they bottled everything up and kept on keeping on, I’m not so sure that should have been idolized. Strong women who raised their daughters to be strong in the face of turmoil, angst, and despair. Who raised daughters to believe that to cry is to be weak, to let others have a one up on you.
