HOW TO TACKLE THE START OF THE WEEK LIKE A BOSS

start of the week

Happy start of the week babes! These days I get so invigorated with the thought of embarking on a new week.

I guess there’s just something so refreshing about beginning again or receiving new opportunities to accomplish new tasks or assignments.

What can I say? I just LOVE the start of a new week.

Although for some, the start of the week can cause differing levels of apprehension, sadness, or nerves. Those feelings usually begin on Sunday night for at least two reasons:

1) The realization that the weekend and all the fun festivities it brought with it are over begin to sink in.

AND/OR

2) More pressure new responsibilities and potential assignments will now bring.

It can be a lot.

However, as someone who has grown to love the start of a new week — I have a few tips that help me beat the dreary Sunday blues and get amped up for the week ahead, that might help you babes too.

SO, keep reading for tips on How to Tackle the Start of the Week Like A Boss.

1. MAKE A TENTATIVE CHECKLIST:

Usually before starting my week, I like to prepare for it. The best way I go about doing that is by making a checklist. I like to bring together all the things I know I need to accomplish for the week and put it down on paper. This allows me to visualize my tasks in front of me, so that everything isn’t running around, getting all jumbled up in my head. When all my tentative tasks have been written down, I make a point of taking it one day at a time. I like to refer to it as my ‘Tentative Checklist’ because there’s just no way of knowing what items will be removed or added to the amount of things that need to be accomplished through the week.

2. DON’T HIT THE SNOOZE BUTTON:

This is honestly the worst thing you could do to yourself (even though I’m a serious snoozer pusher). For those of you babes who are like me, there’s something so gratifying about knowing you still have a little bit more time to sleep. Pushing the snooze button until you really have to get up seems like the most obvious thing to do, but it shouldn’t be. Research and my own personal experience has shown, that when you hit the snooze button instead of waking up when you’re supposed to — you wake up groggier and much more irritated. Naturally, this gets your morning to this new week off to an irritable start which is no bueno. Mondays are already a struggle in their own right, so wake up when you’re supposed to avoid the snooze button struggle you’re bound to face once you hit it.

3. BE MINDFUL OF POTENTIAL CHALLENGES (and prepare for them):

I can’t stress this enough!!! Babes, there will never be any level of planning that will prevent unexpected challenges from occurring. Therefore, instead of trying to avoid them at all cost, get in front of them. Try to input potential challenges into certain tasks that have the likelihood for them to occur within and prep for it. There’s nothing challenges can’t stand more than someone who takes out the time to make an A, B, C, & D plan incase they decide to rear their ugly head. This will do wonders to curve most unforeseen events that may occur.

4. MAKE ACHIEVABLE GOALS FOR MONDAY:

In light of the first sentiment to make a checklist, it’s also very important to make achievable goals for Monday. It’s important to not set your goals too high because doing so may cause them to not be achieved or achieved, but done incorrectly. This will further cause a ‘let down feeling‘ that may contribute to unproductivity going forward. That right there is really no bueno because it’s only Monday. By starting off the week with tasks that are achievable, it will invigorate you (through achieving them) to get more things accomplished. Ultimately, getting you more pumped for the week ahead.

5. DRESS TO IMPRESS:

Nothing makes a gal or guy feel better than wearing something that makes you feel good. Wearing something you feel confident in makes tackling the start of the week like a straight up BOSS. After all, they don’t say ‘if you look good, you feel good‘ for nothing.
